The 01 and 04 have carried the brunt of Nike’s Space Hippie efforts for the past 6 months, with the silhouettes’ recurrence vastly outweighing that of the other two models. Perhaps that’s an issue with material supply, as the pairs are created mostly from recycled parts, or perhaps even a marketing decision by the head honchos at HQ. Either way, if they keep dropping bangers like this Nike Space Hippie 01 “Melon Tint” — who cares? As long as the flow doesn’t stop.
Though it’s listed as “Vast Grey”, its upper appears in a solid beige weave, while the titular hue only plays a minor role on the stitched Swoosh, laces, and vamp mesh. It’s cooled off by a pop of light blue and navy at the laces and heel pull respectively, before heating up again underfoot courtesy of an orange-tinted Crater Foam sole unit. Flashes of bright white arrive to complete the design, hitting the liners and extended tongue pull.
