Over the course of a 12 month period, we’d find ourselves writing well over 200 pieces on new Air Force 1 colorways, all of which arrive different from the last. That in itself is a testament to Bruce Kilgore and the incredibly designed Air Force 1, and also to Nike’s in-house design team who manage to find new and often wonderful ways to dress the silhouette. The next one isn’t immediately outstanding, but it’s exemplary of just how subtle texture changes and minimal blocking can create a fresh new feel.
Here, the silhouette’s customary all-white smooth leather base is upgraded with heavily tumbled tonal leather overlays throughout. The pair’s popping chenille Swooshes feature a soft violet finish and come trimmed with an elegant embroidered finish. Tongue, heel, and insole branding follow in hue, and the pair is completed by a singular silver Swoosh lace ring on the right foot.
